With hotel-like labor and delivery suites and five-star amenities, Brookwood Baptist Medical Center is dedicated to ensuring your newest arrival will arrive in comfort and style. Of course, care comes first: with anesthesiologists on site 24 hours a day, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, and a Level III NICU, we’re prepared to deliver the utmost care for both mother and baby, before and after labor and delivery. Plus, with prenatal education classes and breastfeeding support, we’re not just helping deliver babies—we’re helping people become parents.
Not only does breastfeeding create an incredible bond between mother and baby, it also provides numerous health benefits for each. Our award-winning, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants are available 7 days a week to help mother and baby make this beautiful, vital connection.
Classes and Support
Being a parent, whether it’s your first time or not, is a big, beautiful, challenging job. Our support groups can be of tremendous help and comfort after you’ve been blessed with your newest arrival.
Level III NICU
In the event that your newest arrival needs extra attention, the devoted specialists of our NICU are here to deliver the utmost care for your baby. Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is staffed by board-certified neonatologists, neonatal respiratory therapists, and registered nurses who are certified in infant CPR, drug intervention, and advanced life support.
High Risk Pregnancy
Even when you’re doing everything you can to ensure a healthy pregnancy, you may encounter unexpected challenges or concerns. If so, you’ll be assured to know that Brookwood Baptist is staffed with people who are especially skilled in treating high-risk obstetric patients, including Neonatology and Maternal-Fetal medicine specialists available round-the-clock.
If you’re at another hospital and your baby needs specialized care from our Level III NICU, our neonatal transport vehicles are specially equipped for the safety and comfort of your infant. Just call (205) 547-4407 and our neonatal transport team will mobilize for your family right way.
Cord Blood Donation
Mothers looking to make a big difference for patients facing life-threatening conditions have a great resource right after labor and delivery. By donating your newborn’s umbilical cord blood, you could be providing a stem cell transplant to a patient whose life depended on it. These cord blood cells can be collected, preserved and later used as a source of stem cells for transplantation for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other life-threatening blood diseases.
Having any kind of obstetrical health issue while you’re pregnant can be a scary, stressful experience. That’s why we’re introducing a dedicated OB Emergency Department, staffed by board-certified OB/GYN physicians 24 hours a day for your peace of mind. Now, you can always rest assured you’ll be evaluated and treated by an OB specialist regardless of time, complication, or circumstance. Our OB Emergency Department is located on the 3rd floor of our Women’s Center.
Your health is too important to leave to chance. Let us help you find the physician that’s right for you.
